A tribute to my Tio Alfredo-

In honor of my tio Alfredo's Birthday I have decided to dedicate this post to him. He would've been 67yrs old yesterday! He was a fun, loving, not to mention goofy uncle who always put the funniest stickers on your birthday card. (I miss those) I remember he would always come over to our house and joke around with my siblings and I. As a kid, he would joke and say that I was going to live out of an old beat up car, with my dirty clothes in black trash bags, smoking and drinking while traveling across the country. It still brings tears to my eyes and a smile on my face when talk about this story. As I got older, he became more and more like my 2nd father. He always wanted the best for me and my entire family. Sadly, he passed away 2 weeks before my high school graduation. Although he is not physically with us, he is still with me in spirit. About a year after my uncle passed away,  my only wish was for him to visit me in one of my dreams. My wish came true the day after my 19th birthday. He said, Happy Birthday Mija (daughter in spanish) gave me a hug and a kiss and said that he loved me. I remembered in my dream that I replied and said that I missed him and loved him. I still get sad and happy every time I tell this story. May 16th 2012 will mark 10yrs since he's passed. There has not been a day that goes by that I do not think of him or miss him. He is my guardian angel looking down at me from heaven! He will always have a special place in my heart and I will always have a place in his. My love for him is unconditional and I thank God for having him in my life. His memory lives on in my thoughts and in my heart! He will forever be my uncle "willie".
