Talented, creative, and fascinated with all things glitter, Nancy Bautista began her love of makeup at an early age. The youngest of five, Nancy grew up watching her mother & sisters apply makeup before going to work and school. Always the curious one, Nancy would often play with her mothers makeup. She recalls the first time she snuck into her mothers room and took her makeup. "I think I was about 6years old. I decided to play "grown up". I applied a blue-green eye shadow, pink blush and bright red lipstick. I “thought” I knew what I was doing, but I’m sure I looked more like a clown than a Barbie doll"!
One of Nancy's earliest makeup moments was when she was about 8yrs old. She remembers watching on MTV the behind the scene’s of Michael Jackson's video, Thriller. With her love of Halloween, Nancy was instantly drawn to the special effects makeup. She remembers how "cool" Michael Jackson looked as a werewolf and zombie and wanted to learn more about the art. Not only is Nancy a big fan of Halloween, she also has a passion for history which plays a big role in her makeup career. She enjoys learning about the different time periods in makeup and credits her love of eyeliner to Cleopatra’s signature cat eye lined eyes.
During her teen years, Nancy read the latest beauty magazines and began teaching herself the do's and don'ts about makeup. Even as a teenager, her friends would often ask her to do their makeup for school dances and parties. She would continue practicing her makeup skills & techniques to create her personal style for the next couple of years.
At 25, during a tough time in her life, Nancy realized she put off her dreams far to long and decided to pursue her passion of becoming a makeup artist. Keeping a positive attitude during this tough time, Nancy knew she had to put the past behind her and focus on her happiness. In January of 2011, Nancy enrolled at London Eyes, Inc. International Academy of Makeup. After receiving positive feedback from her teachers & directors, Nancy knew becoming a makeup artist was what she was meant to be.
The love and support of her family and friends and the words of encouragement help Nancy strive to be the best that she can be. Never forgetting her promise to herself, Nancy never stop believing in her dreams and she continues to dream bigger every single day.
Nancy's goal is to continue her education and achieve all levels in the makeup industry. She hopes to have her own makeup studio, as well as her own cosmetic line & accesories.
